By Lieutenant Kevin Ferris
August 30, 2026

With the delivery of the new Engine 132 last week, this week’s training was focused on familiarization of the new engine and some new equipment that was delivered with it.

In conjunction with pump operator training, members familiarized with our new portable master stream monitor and Electric Vehicle (EV) nozzle. The portable monitor, is a lightweight, high gallon per minute nozzle, capable of flowing several hundred gallons while being deployed by a single firefighter. The EV nozzle, is designed to extinguish electric vehicle fires, by sliding the low profile, high pressure spray nozzle under a vehicle to cool the battery.

After all this training was complete, Engine 132 was officially placed in service!
